A client in the pharma industry, EMEA, more than 10,000 employees.
Tasks
The core business of the Client is the movement of goods from manufacturing facilities to LRD facilities via shipment flows and consignment inventory flows with complex taxation structure via triangulation.
Therefore, our task was to create a centralized invoicing and correct tax management system to simplify operations in EMEA markets by implementing SAP S4 HANA.
The implementation of the product was carried out by an offshore team with an experimental division of all work areas.
Challenges
The Client is a division of one of the largest pharma manufacturers in the US. Since almost all employees for work with EMEA region were hired recently, we faced the main problem at the stage of business requirements development.
The main problem was the lack of understanding of the requirements and the inability to find a person to take on the responsibility.
Solution
The Client uses Onesource as the tax engine to calculate the correct VAT for each country involved in these flows.Special attention was given to integrating Onesource and S4 HANA to automate the invoicing process and ensure tax reporting efficiency.
Results
The result was fully automated dropshipping flows with correct tax application. This eliminated the problem of manually calculating taxes for each LRD business and allowed the creation of shared service centers where invoicing would be centralized for all other EU countries. This solution minimizes the risk of financial errors, which is critical for any business. and automating the process frees up staff time for other operational and strategic activities
